Encouraged by the Word
We have all been through times when we needed encouragement. Where do you go to find encouragement? Do you call a friend or family member, or do you read a book or listen to a song? Whether you’ve been through the loss of a loved one, an unwanted diagnosis, a broken relationship, or any other of life’s tragedies, you can find encouragement in the Word of God. God never wanted us to go through this life alone. He gave us other people to help us throughout this journey of life, Christian resources and the Word of God to lead and guide us, and a relationship with Him if we choose.
We see from the very beginning of time that God created Adam, and then took one of his ribs and created his helpmate, Eve. He said that it is not good for man to be alone when he created man and woman. He created them to walk in the garden together. He gave us spouses, friends, and family members to walk through this life together. We were never meant to be alone. We also have Christian books that provide encouraging words for believers. Many of these resources are based on the Word of God, which He gave us to give us a guide to follow. The Bible is a continuous love story between God and man. His Word brings hope, peace, and joy. Most of all, He gave us Himself. He wants us to look to Him for help before everyone else just as 1 Chronicles 16:11 tells us, “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.” We will find what we need when we seek Him.
So what is it that you seek? What do you need? Jeremiah 29:13 tells us that we will seek Him and find Him when we seek Him with all of our hearts. Most of all, you will find encouragement when you look to the Lord. Nothing else will fulfill like putting your hope and trust in Him.
